KINGS OF ARMENIA MINOR. Mithradates, circa 180s-170s BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 13 mm, 1.66 g). Draped bust of Mithradates to left, bearded and wearing upright bashlyk tied with a diadem. Rev. BACIΛЄωC MIΘPAΔATO. Kovacs 27 corr. ('Mithradates I of Sophene'). Extremely rare, the finest of a very few known examples. A very attractive coin with an exceptionally complete reverse legend. The obverse a bit weak, otherwise, about extremely fine.
